Erika Masterson specializes in black and white portraits of children, families and weddings. Her goal is to capture candid natural expressions that convey the curiosity, spirit and innocence of your loved ones.

Erika choose black and white because it is timeless, simple and elegant. She also has a passion for creativity with all her "art" printed by hand in a darkroom.

The session can take place in any number of locations. You choose the destination. The beach, park or the comfort of your home or yard. If you choose, you can always come into Erika's studio.

Sessions may last anywhere from 30 minutes to 1.5 hours. With children there is a "window of opportunity" to capture the best images. Erika photographs quickly to capture the most natural expressions.

Erika recommends clothing be simple. Solids are best. No prints or logos that could distract from what's important. She prefers black or medium (neutral) tones. This allows the main focus to be only on the subjects' face. Clothing should also depend on the location of the photographs. So please discuss your ideas with Erika before the session. Of course, bare feet are best!
